Glenwood Financial Partners, a wealth management firm based in Raleigh, hosted a Year of Resolve luncheon for clients and friends of the firm. The interactive discussion covered the firm’s history as fiduciaries and counselors, its focus on stewardship and authenticity and, of course, valuable insights on financial markets for 2019 and beyond.
Numerous key points were covered, and we point out a few main takeaways below. Michael mentioned several books along the way, so be sure to scroll down this message as we believe that any of the three books pictured are insightful additions to any summer reading list.
Discussion on inflation worries: We highlighted numerous examples of costs dramatically decreasing to consumers benefit. “It’s hard to make predictions…especially about the future”
“It ain’t what you don’t know that gets you into trouble. It’s what you know for sure that just ain’t so.”
Three Main Takeaways on the Market Outlook:
- Medical Innovation, technology, energy independence, and emerging global consumer demand will help to enable a future brighter than we are often led to believe.
- “Resolve” will allow us to focus on this bright future with the discipline and patience to withstand provocative news reports, uncertainties, rogue Tweets, and financial market volatility.
- Key Performance Indicators of our proprietary Magic Formula do not currently indicate an imminent recession. And, even if Recession were to come, we believe it will be shallow and we have stress tested client portfolios for these scenarios.
Our missions include spreading a culture of trust and character in the area of finance.
We welcome any confidential inquiries, conversations, and introductions. This is a good time to add that we also enjoy presentations to outside groups and organizations and welcome inquiries where interest exists.
With Gratitude, Rick & Michael
